What personal data we collect.

Comments

When visitors leave comments or data on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Our third-party business partners includes member of our group of companies, insurers, our carefully selected suppliers, and payment services providers, insofar as reasonably necessary. This could be to obtain or maintain insurance coverage, for the purposes of processing your payments, or for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject to.

We may also share certain information such as your location, browser, and cookie data and other data relating to your use of our website with our business partners to deliver advertisements.

Financial transactions relating to our website and services are handled by our payment services providers. We will share transaction data with our payment services providers only where necessary for the purposes of processing your payments, refunding such payments and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments and refunds.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

Personal data that we collect for any purpose or purposes will not be kept by us for longer than is necessary for the purpose or those purposes. In some cases it is not possible for us to specify in advance the periods for which your personal data will be retained.

For website visitors the Google Analytics Data Retention is set to 36 months before user-level and event-level data stored by Google Analytics is automatically deleted from Google Analytics’ servers. When data reaches the end of the retention period, it is deleted automatically on a monthly basis.

Notwithstanding the other provisions of this nformation section, we may retain your personal data where such retention is necessary for compliance with any legal obligations to which we are subject, or in order to protect our or your interests or the vital interests of another natural person.

How we protect your data

All data collected is stored on UK based secure servers operated by approved third part suppliers and protected by compliant security methods.  As no data other than that required to process normal accounting proceedures, is held, we cannot be held responsible for any data breach on servers or other platforms provided by third part sources.
